Three questions we hear most
Do you accept very small projects, such as a single family copy?
Yes. A one-copy family volume, a short anthology for a single class, and a memorial booklet are all normal jobs at this shop. The proof desk process is the same, only the page count changes, and the scope note will make the minimum cost clear before you commit.
How long does a typical book take from intake to cartons?
A family history of about one hundred pages usually needs six to ten weeks, including two proof reads. A community anthology with many contributors takes longer because submissions and sign-offs have to close first. Rush work is possible when the press calendar allows but never at the expense of the final proof read.
Can you work with files we already have in a word processor?
Yes. Most manuscripts arrive as word processor documents, scans and loose photographs. We convert what is usable, rebuild layouts where needed, and tell you plainly when a scanned page is too poor to print. Nothing is thrown away, and every original file is kept on the job record until you ask for its return.
